Ap.E is a Research laboratory of the Dipartimento di Chimica of the Università degli Studi di Milano. Ap.E has an intense research activity in the industrial applications of electrochemical science and technology, and in particular in the field of energy conversion and environmental protection and remediation.

In addition, the Laboratory has specific interest and expertise in environmental impact analysis of substances/materials and processes. In view of internationally accepted environmental rules and regulations aiming at the sound comparability of environmental declarations, the Laboratory is active in studying procedures of Life Cycle Assessments, including comparative analyses for ecodesign evaluations. LCA studies are comprehensive of the criteria for allocation, normalization, weighting and data uncertainty evaluations.
